I cant recommend the Astro A40 headset enough. It sounds great when playing games like Call of Duty and can hear people from a mile away, it also is great for other games like fallout 4 etc, it makes you feel like you are really there. Great Bass etc. Now if you want to use it on your computer then what I do and I would expect everyone else to do is to plug it straight into your computer (Without Mixamp) and the mic quality sounds almost as good as my AT-2020/Scarlet Solo. I use it doing some lets plays on my youtube channel. It is an overall great headset.

If I was spending any more than that, I'd probably grab something like these;

or a pair of DT990's, and then invest in a separate microphone later on.

My sister has a pair of these and they sound great!
Right now you can get them for $35 at best buy.
This is what they look like.

You get what you pay for, they are pretty bad. In terms of audio, the norm is the higher your budget, the better the quality. This isn't true for everything though.
OP has a decent budget, might aswell use it where he'd see the benefits.
