So the answer is most likely, but PSU's are cheap so if you're on the verge of maxing out, a nice 600w isn't too expensive of an upgrade.

ah ok just making sure cause it has one 6 pin and two 4 pins and the 980 takes one 8 pin and one 6 pin but putting the two 4 pins together should work i guess just making sure

The unit isn't great by any means. The max it's rated for is 360W off of the 12V rails with no certification or guarantees, if an upgrade is possible, I'd certainly recommend one.

The unit would most probably manage it just fine without any problems, but remember it doesn't have an 8 pin PCIe connector, and that is probably for a reason.

The wattage definitely isn't an issue unless you're running an X299 or X399 CPU, which I don't imagine you are. The issue is the quality. The unit you have is pretty old, and the quality is definitely sub par. Will it do? Yeah, pretty much, but I'd definitely recommend upgrading asap.

im using a i5-8600k

this psu is just for the time being only thing i was worried about is if i can put the two 4 pins on the gpu since it needs a 8 pin

If they're PCIe 4 pins, yeah. If it's EPS, no.

From this, we can see that the only PCIe cables you have on the PSU, is the single 6 pin. So, no, the 4+4 pin won't work, that's for CPU power. You'll need to grab a SATA to 8-pin adapter, or a molex to 8-pin adapter. That also isn't a very smart idea, but it should work for now if you just want to get it up and running. Again though, I'd really be looking in to a PSU upgrade.

Oh, and just so you know - PCIe 8-pin cables aren't going to be 4+4, they'll be 6+2 like 99% of the time. I think I've seen one janky adapter that apparently had a 4+4 pin PCIe connector, but that's it.

Depends on budget and currency really. Corsair CX450M is usually fairly well priced, and that would do fine, if it's not over-priced.
