It would also be a noise ordinance violation in most cases.

I drive a 2006 F-250 6.0 diesel with the exhaust cut off right before the cat (so no cat or muffler) and dumping right under the cab (for now) and it's loud as hell but I have no issues. I also live in a small town though where we don't complain about loud noises as long as it's not a fart canned Civic.

if you're worried about the neighbor then I suggest looking into the Armytrix exhaust so you can have a "quiet" exhaust then at the push of a button have the loudest exhaust possible short of open headers.

My exhaust is loud as shit so I've always been scared of getting pulled over. Not loud in a good way either, I just need to get it fixed.

Most likely will just be let off with a warning unless the cop wants to be an ass.

it depends where you are, if you're classed as disturbing the area then yes you may receive a warning or in a worst case scenario a ticket.
