Just to let you all know, I am experienced with vBulletin and know a fair bit about MyBB, and I am a full time web developer, freelancer...etc. And a client asked me to do a XenForo theme, I have fiddled with it before but not to the extent of a custom theme from scratch, and they wanted it responsive for mobile, but the price they offered was hard to say no. I took no money up front, was honest with them and said I will have a play around and get back to you whether I will be able to provide the XenForo service to the same standard to my other work. I new i could make it but wouldnt dream of charging someone and putting my name to work that will be publicly viewed if I dont feel it is to the best of my ability. So I will post screenshots below for you, I have covered certain things up as I feel it would look like I am trying to advertise even though its not for my forum. But here is how it looks:

Note: I do have a copy of it working on a private server i use for testing but if staff approve and it I may allow a link for people to see it. But if I do it will be for viewing purposes only, the forums wont be active or registrations wont be allowed, would need to give me the go ahead for that first.

I don't think having rounded headers, especially for the chatbox, looks good.
The chatbox looks weird because the scrollbar isn't actually connected to anything.

I may look into sorting out the scroll bar, but the client wanted rounded off categories.

I agree with Deano, the rounded corners make it look odd. A flat style with brighter colours would make this layout look 10 times better in my opinion. With forum design, i feel less is more.

If it is what the client wants then, of course, follow that. When they get some sense into them about basic UI/UX designs then they can be charged for more work
