I think it looks really clean for a first try!

The only thing I would change is, I would make the 'vingette' sort of effect, the radial gradient, a lot less exaggerated. I would make it a smoother transition from dark to light. Also, I'd put the radial gradient underneath the text because it makes the lighting of the text a little odd to me.

These are just my thoughts, great job.
