The real question is why do you need the upgrade you can already run every game at 60 fps for the most part unless its 4k so why upgrade?

Honestly, I want to make sure I had at least right below top tier items. I understand I can basically run what I want with the hardware I have, but it's more for me to know I am definitely able to keep up anything. Plus, I've noticed my wife's video editing software has sputtered and lagged at times.

Really no point in upgrading from a 1070 in the current state of affairs of pricing.
Cost to performance is just not worth it.
Also, do you have an SSD?
That would be an upgrade if you didn't.

I have one 250GB SSD. I figure I need a bigger one but I'm not sure how to really utilize it properly. It is something that I need to look into honestly. What size would you guys recommend?
Also upgrading right now is mostly a hobby kind of deal. I want to just make it bigger and better. So any recommendations are welcome especially for lighting. (LEDs and what not.)

250gb is good, the way to utilize a SSD firstly is to put your OS on it. Which I hope you have your OS on it. Then to put any programs/games you frequently use on it. That's it lol.
Edit: If you're filling up your SSD with everything that is necessary that is when you should upgrade.
I personally have a 500gb and it's enough for me.
I get it's all a hobby, but you're literally throwing away money. I'd really wait til next gen to splurge to make it worth the money.
As far as aesthetics of your build, it's all preference, just start looking into RBG cases, fans, RAM, PSUs with colored cabling etc etc
