Tsutsui Hikari is an otaku, and he mostly avoids social life. Hikari has only one friend at school, who is also a social misfit, and he is mocked brutally by most of his classmates for being creepy and weird. One day, he ends up having to clean the school pool with Igarashi Iroha, who appears to be pretty much everything he hates in real-life girls. She skips school, has a blunt manner, doesn't have female friends, and seems the sort to be promiscuous. However, she is friendly to Hikari, and even stands up to the people who make fun of him. Hikari's bitterness and trust issues lead him to say pretty harsh things to Iroha, but she never dismisses him as creepy. After a while, it starts to look like Iroha may become his first real-life, 3D girlfriend! Will he be able to handle it?

3D Kanojo's anime adaptation will begin airing this coming season, starting April 4th and will centre around an introverted high-schooler Hikari who, thanks to his tendency to isolate himself is seen as weird by his classmates, and his interactions between a female classmate Iroha. The premise sounds like it will be a sweet little love story and I believe would probably span 12 episodes, thus being a 1-cour series. Reading the description, it makes me think of series such as Sukitte Ii na yo and Kimi ni Todoke which are similar in the sense that they have high school settings with a socially awkward protagonist interacting with, and growing closer to the popular person in their class and eventually evolving in to a romantic relationship.

The manga in which the series is adapted from has long finished serialization totaling 12 volumes with 48 chapters, so if this sounds like your cup of tea and want to sink your teeth in early, then you will be able to do so uninterrupted by having to wait for the next chapter or volume to be released as you normally would if you were following a manga still in serialization.

I've seen Kimi no Todoke and also Sukitte li na yo and if its like you've said anything similar to those then I'll be onboard 100% with this anime. I've been waiting for some enjoyable romances lately and I'll be glad to try this out. From its plot it sounds like it'll be an interesting anime that's for sure, appreciate this thread Mortar
