Sometimes with anime I get so caught up in Shonen type animes, with lots of fighting and a billion episodes, that it's nice to take a break from them. I enjoy watching something that shows a little bit of a certain character's everyday life (aka a slice of life obv lol).

It's weirdly nice to see relatively normal characters doing funny things and getting a perspective on other aspects of life.

So, I'm curious what some of your guy's favorite slice of life animes are?

A few of mine are:

Sakamoto desu ga?

I thought this was hilarious. Sakamoto is a guy that can be described as the perfect human being. The way he deals with situations, such as the jealousy of other guys, is creatively funny.

Barakamon

Story of a calligrapher, who despite being very talented, is sent to a small group of islands to work on his calligraphy and self reflect. This rural setting is different than what he is used to which makes for some good laughs. He meets some funny characters along the way. He is a likable MC.

Toradora!

I'm sure most of you have seen this or at least heard of it lol. But anyways, it's about a kind guy that loves cleaning, who mistakenly gets labeled as a delinquent because of his eyes. He works together with a girl named Taiga, who's a fierce and feisty. They work together help each other get closer to their crushes.

Idk why I liked this one so much. I think it was funny seeing Kenji, a delinquent, in the various situations he gets thrust into. Basically he's forced to join a club, and ends up enjoying it.

Handa-kun

After reading reviews, I saw a lot of people did not like this one, but I thought it was hilarious. It's a spin-off from Barakamon, which I have earlier in this list. The same main character, Handa, thinks that everyone in his high school hate him, when really he is the most popular guy in school. Through various misunderstandings and interactions with his peers who basically worship him, I laughed a lot watching this. (EDIT: holy crap, the pic I chose for this one is huge)

I know some of these are in additional genres than just slice of life. I tried to describe them as best as I could in my own words lol. Please share yours!

Wow thanks, Mortar! I've seen Lives of High School Boys, Silver Spoon, and of course, Hyouka. I'll check these out on MAL, as I need a break from all the long shonen I've been watching haha.
