Sakamoto desu ga?
Hey guys, here are my thoughts on another anime I've seen recently. So every once in a while I will take a break from the more serious animes I watch, and go out of my way to watch one that is a comedy. It's always healthy to laugh, and after some days, that's just what you need. Sakamoto desu ga was one of these anime.

So to kind of give you guys a synopsis, the story centers around a high school student named Sakamoto. He is deemed flawless, handsome, cool, and pretty much perfect in every way. After hearing this, you might think Sakamoto is a kind of cocky person that acts better than everyone else. That is not the case; he is also a genuinely good human being. But this anime is not meant to have some deep meaning like that, it more so centers around the ridiculous situations Sakamoto and his peers get into.
If I had to describe the sense of humor this show employs, I would say it uses an over the top, ridiculous humor based on Sakamoto's straight-faced reactions and his ability to do something that's somehow more than what's expected of him. It's a pretty "straight-up" style of humor, in that the show simply comes out and says what it means. This is what pushes the sense of humor to an unworldy realm, with him performing amazing feats, while his peers react in a hilarious manor. So I feel like I said this in a really roundabout way, but to sum if up: Sakamoto does something ridiculously awesome, in order to help someone usually, and it's so freakin' funny because of how he did it, and the way his friends react. Basically that's the punch line that the show follows, but it's always funny to me because the situations are slightly different lol (maybe I'm a simple man).
Some of the ridiculous moments include Sakamoto dueling it out with a bee, playing a dramatic game of push-sumo, hiding like a ninja from his friend's scary mom, and dueling it out with a bee. And wow, now that I type out these moments, it sounds kind of dumb, but trust me, it's hilarious. If you enjoy a ridiculous sense of humor, then I would definitely tell you to watch this.
Another cool aspect of Sakamoto is that he always does things for the best interest of others. There's some funny interactions with the other characters. Which btw, I think the cast of characters is interesting enough for a shorter comedy show like this. His crazy antics definitely made me laugh.
One other thing you guys should do if you chose to watch this, is check out some of the memes for Sakamoto. They're HILARIOUS. Even if you just look at the comment section of wherever you stream this, it's pretty funny.

Dude, YES, the memes are so funny, I was like crying laughing as I watched this and was on Reddit and Tumblr. Some hilarious memes. I think you definitely need a certain sense of humor for this show, but I feel like you would like it.
