Thank you , i'm looking at using Blender for the time being.

I use Adobe Premiere Pro, just because that's what my college trained me to use. You can do pretty much anything with it. I know Sony Vegas is great, as already mentioned. So yeah, Premiere Pro is another option for you.

I use Sony Vegas 15 but also After effects. Really it depends on what you want to edit. More crazy edits for example, trickshotting or feeds, you would want to use After Effects. Sony vegas is kind of the more simple editor for like making cut comms and all that stuff. The link below is an in depth video about different editing softwares. Not sure if i can link or not but the video really helped me in choosing what to edit with.

The Adobe products have so many more features than their competition that there almost isn't a reason to use anything else. They cost money though, unless you want to look around and get them for free.
