I have been having this issue lately where in games like fortnite and battlefield my sound seems to be reversed. I have tested this headset on YouTube with surround sound test and it works perfectly. But on games it swaps..
I have tried numerous headsets. Numerous controllers. And 2 Xbox ones.
What could be the issue?
And for your smart asses I have turned the headset around but then my mic is on the back of my head. Which is annoying.
Thanks.

Have you tried contacting Astro support? Their support team is amazing when it comes down to troubleshooting. In my opinion, it must be just a bad headset. If their support team can't solve your problem, then they'll more likely RMA it for you. Here's a link to submit a ticket [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Xbox one headsets are all like this if you plug it into the controller.
That's why I had to buy a wireless $250 headset to actually hear things on this console.

Thats a buncha malarkey.
My Astro A40TRs work phenomenally with my Xbox One X, as they did with my OG Xbox One. If yours doesn't work correctly you should get it serviced.

They're surround sound and plug into the optical socket at the back.
