Can you not just check the recycle bin?

Hi TheFakeMrSneaky

You must fully understand how HDD's work - For example when you delete something it you only move it to a unused part of the hard drive and then write over it in the future,

if you want use this for data recovery. worked for me for years very easy to use and free

Anything you delete out of the recycle bin is easily recoverable... Even if you remove things off a USB pen it's so easy to restore something back, use a tool called recuva

It might be worth checking if you have created a restore point prior to when the photos were deleted, that way you could get them back easily if you are lucky. If you do not have a previous restore point, then you could check the recycle bin as deleted files go there and you could restore the photos. If you are out of luck with these, then you
could search Google for data recovery software. I have actually recovered formatted data (not all of it though) using software but I can't remember which I used now but I'm sure you will find one.
