Opened up my 360 to clean all the dust bunnies out, put everything back together disc tray was working fine all night until an hour ago when i took out a game and attempted to put in another how can i fix this, on dashboard it say "Open Tray" after the game is inside. I know everything is good inside ive opened and fixed my fair share of consoles in the past.

Your laser is shot most likely.

Make sure the DVD tray wires are fully connected

It might not neccesarily be the dust that's the issue, it will be you're laser you need to give a clean

P.s if you do clean the laser, preferably with a cotton ear bud, be VERY careful because if you're not gentle you will damage it and have to get it replaced

Ok ill open again and reset everythig and check the connections, would i be able to use a dvd drive from a laptop inside by hooking it up with the sata cable?

Replace the laser. If you have fixed consoles in the past you should of known this
