Some 20 rockets were fired at Israeli military bases by Iranian forces in southern Syria just after midnight on Thursday, with some of the incoming missiles being intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system, the army said, amid sky high tensions on the northern border.

There were no reports of Israeli casualties in the attack. An army spokesperson said damage was caused to Israeli military bases, but that it was "limited."

The Israeli army said the missile barrage was carried out by members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Forces. This appeared to be the first time that Israel attributed an attack directly to Iran, which generally operates through proxies. The late night rocket barrage was also the largest attack, in terms of the number of rockets fired, in the seven years of the Syrian civil war.

Tehran has repeatedly vowed revenge after the T-4 army base in Syria was struck in an air raid -- widely attributed to Israel -- on April 9, killing at least seven members of the IRGC, including a senior officer responsible for the group's drone program.

Well to be completely fair and honest. Israel has been breaking international law for a while and i think what Iran did was just retaliation . Also according to International Law the Golan heights belongs to Syria so technically an occupying force was being attacked, if you look at it by international law

Iran flew a drone into Israel air space, the only thing was to bomb the air base where the drone came from. Nothing of value was lost of Irans anyway.

You're right, nothing was lost, but it still is against the law. Also, it wasn't a drone, they were rockets. Also, they never entered Israeli airspace, they entered the Golan Heights, which is in Syria and Israel is illegally occupying.

That is old. This post is about the new situation. Honestly Israel has been violating Syrian airspace and striking them for a while, this is just retaliation and the bombs were sent to Golan Heights which is legally Syrian territory. Israel needs to stop violating international law, and i wouldnt be surprised if Lebanon tries to shoot down an Israeli jet. And im not bias at all

Ah, yes. Iran is the bad guy here for just responding once to being repeatedly attacked by Israel.

It's actually crazy how quickly revisionist history takes hold in the west.

Its been seven years going on eight since that whole conflict started. I really think its time to sit down let bygones be bygones and fix the destruction and figure out some kind of compromise because to me its just a waste of life and money to keep this conflict going its not really progressing on any side just really a stalemate.
