Yeah I've watched friends that list wasn't exhaustive, but ill give New Girl a watch and see what its all about.

Supernatural, one of my top 3 TV shows. You could also try vikings, which looks pretty good.

Few of my favourite shows atm

-Fear The Walking Dead. ( i noticed you said you weren't much a fan of the main show but this series does have its own vibe and twists to it while still respecting the main story.)
-Power
-Top Boy (There is only 2 series of this show currently as it was axed due to lets just say idiotic reasons. But Drake ended up buying the rights and is now set to air a 3rd series on Netflix early next year)
-Bulletproof (This only just started on tuesday but if you are from the UK the banter and action in this is already enough to recommend)

Riverdale is my favourite show atm you might like that the 2nd season just finished which was great.

A lot of people suggest prison break. I myself have yet to watch it so can't put any input on it but I'd give that ago.
