Hey guys, haven't been on ttg in some time, but I've finally decided to get back into gaming. I want to play on pc, but I just don't know where to start.

I have a buddy who's going to pass down a monitor, mouse and keyboard to me so that will not be needed.

Budget: Willing to spend $500-$700usd

Games: Forntie, pub g, h1z1

Software: Ill mainly only be gaming on this pc. I have a macbook pro that ill use for everything else.

Thanks in advance!!

What monitor will you be using?
Will you overclock?
Any preferences(brand, aesthetic, storage, etc)?

Thanks for the reply!

Ill be using the LG 25UM57 27 inch. I think its a pretty good monitor, not too sure what "good" really is in terms of gaming.

I apologize but I'm not too sure what overclocking is, but I would love your advice! Is overclocking good? and would it be beneficial for me as a newbie to pc gaming?

Storage isn't too much of a concern, I will only have games on this pc. I think somewhere around 250gb should be plenty for me. As far as brands go, I'm not too picky, I just want stuff that works well.

No need to overclock, can't with this CPU and motherboard anyway. Maybe add an HDD when you have some more money, but 240GB SSD is fine for your OS and a few games. RX 570 is still over priced but it's at a really good price point compared to 1060s and 580s, so I have to recommend the RX 570 if you can get it under $280.

No, no, apparently this 580 is in stock for the same price as the 570 so obviously get this instead;

The 580 went up in price, it was only $270 but sold out at that price, so I'd just stick with the RX 570 tbh.

If you're going to with a 580, get this instead of the Gigabyte one;
