You got a piercing or anything? I'd definitely say piercings are more 'sore' than a tattoo.I was worried about the feeling at first also, but it honestly just feels like a pro-longed cat scratch kind of and some ocassional nippiness, but any uncomfort will go away after 10/15 mins anyway becuase you'll get used to the feeling.
I know what it's like to be stuck there, thinking you want something but not booking it. All I can say is, talk to an artist and maybe get a price estimate for some stuff?

Reading this is the first time I've heard someone say the pain isn't too bad. It's never something I've been too worried about, but who knows, I'll probably be a baby about it lmao

Not a bad tat. Not something I would get, but it's also looking clean and very simple. Also doesn't look like the artist put a lot of pressure near the end of the wings, which sadly can happen when making a point on a tattoo.
Right, onto the care. In my experience, black ink doesn't always heal like a lot of people think. I've learned this from my own experience and from tattoo artists who actually have told me that, as well as said there are times they get surprised with how well black ink can heal on some people - especially if that person is basically doing a blackout tattoo. With black tattoos, don't always expect a month later for them to look as nice as it does now. It could happen, but chances are, you will need a touch-up to get it back to the darkness it is now (most tattoo shops will do touch-ups for free on new ink.)
So, I'm sure your artist told you the basics, clean it with lukewarm/war water with an anti-bacterial soap that doesn't have perfume in it and use a water based lotion that too doesn't have any perfume in it. The thing a lot of people miss, is, they clean their tattoo with the water, pat dry it and then immediately put the lotion on right after. DO NOT do this, all that does is trap lotion in your pores since the water opened them up and when your pores close, now the lotion is on a top layer which causes bubbles to form around your ink. That alone will lift the colour and dull it out, may make the lines slightly change, will make a bubble imprint where it formed once the tattoo settles and in a worst case scenario, burst/be popped which is a loss of ink and can lead to other problems. Instead, wash your tattoo with the lukewarm/warm water, use the soap, then rinse the soap off with as cold as possible water (after about a week, your tattoo will sting like a bitch from the cold water due to the healing process but you have to bare with it) pat try with a paper towel (makes it easier so no fibers get caught on the tattoo once it starts scabbing/peeling up) and let it air dry for an hour or 2 before putting the lotion on.
Looks to be on your forearm, so try and keep that away from the sun as much as possible. On top of the sun being able to lift out the ink and dull it, it can also irritate your skin, even to the point where you feel the need to scratch your arm, which don't do. Once your tattoo starts scabbing/peeling, you will be uncomfortable in the fact that you will want to itch it off. What I did, is take two fingers and just tap around the tattoo somewhat soft to take that sensation away. Try to avoid tight long sleeves or any sort of material that could easily catch onto the tattoo during the later stages of the healing process. When you take a shower, try to avoid letting your tattoo get wet with hot water and steam. Again, that can lift your tattoo. Lukewarm water is fine, but for a shower, that will just dry out the skin around it if you're in for too long.
Everyone's pain tolerance is different. Some people may have a "knockout" zone on their wrist, other on their shoulders, ect. The pain to me was more of an annoyance, like a damn cat scratching you. When I got a touch up on my left forearm, almost leaning into the underside of my forearm (elbow side, can't think of name,) that's where I started to get uncomfortable and gave me the feeling of when I pierced my eyebrow with a needle and ice when I was younger - which was not pleasant at all lol.

I love it. Big Peep fan and I would actually get this tattoo myself if I wasn't scared of getting a tattoo.

Honestly, who cares what other people think as long as you like it? It's your body.

Yeah, I've heard people say "of course it's painful, it's a tattoo" but honestly, it's not really painful at all. I know everyone reacts differently but my nose piercing which took 5 minutes legitimately hurt more than my tattoo did lol. Of course, feet, ribs, hands and bigger tattoo's would hurt more though I'd imagine.

I'm a massive baby with needles so I was nervous for this since it's my first tat, and I always get nervous for piercings, but honestly, getting this tat done was so much easier than any of my piercings. I understand now what people mean when they say they "enjoy the pain of a tattoo" because after the first 10/15 minutes once it goes pretty numb, it does actually feel quite nice lol.

Good to know it's not too bad for my first tat lol. I've always fu**ed with Lil Peep and the Cry Baby album(as well as design) so I was always going to get this tattoo, just glad the artist wasn't too terrible lol.

This is some key information I needed, I've been patting it dry then letting it air dry for 15/20 minutes before applying lotion. I'll make sure to leave it longer after washing before applying lotion from now on because I can already see some slight 'bubbling', although that might just be some swelling from the healing tbh. Thanks for this crucial info tho bae <3

Yeah, inner forearm. Unfortunately for me, this is the 3 days of the year we get sun in Scotland so I've been wearing short sleeved tee's(refusing to wear long sleeves while the tat heals lol) and trying to hide my arm from the sun whenever I have been out lol. Already got a bit of itchiness from what sun I did get on it, and yeah I just lightly tapped the area instead of scratching

I felt the same for so long because I'm a big baby tbh, but honestly, if you go speak to an artist and get a price estimate, maybe make a booking if the price is reasonable, it's definitely worth it. Once you get there for the tattoo, and sit down, your artist will start to calm you down immediately and you won't even notice lol. I suffer from pretty bad anxiety and still managed to make it through. So, yeah, I think if you go see an artist and get a price estimate, that'll already soften some of the worry/scaredness.

I love the tattoo man, I was thinking of something similar but still unsure.
Thanks man. Yeah, I had a bunch of ideas that I couldn't settle on, and was unsure of, but I finally just went and got a price estimate for this and booked it, so glad I did because I already want another one haha
