I've ordered parts for my new PC build, but have not built a PC for myself before. I plan to play mainstream PC games like Fortnite and LoL. Probably the occasional video render as well.

Currently playing on a 1080p 60Hz <1ms ASUS monitor, but may upgrade this as well to a 144Hz soon to take full advantage of my build.

The one thing I haven't ordered yet is a GPU and speakers. I'm trying to track GPU sales and get a good price/performance deal, looking at a 1070+ (pref 1070 TI or 1080).

Here's my build so far: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

These parts are already ordered, but looking for what I should have upgraded or what I need to replace first. I'm hoping to get into overclocking a little bit as well to try my luck at the silicon lottery, but probably won't run high overclocked day to day.

I should also mention I got a gnarly deal on the 8086K CPU and a discount on the NVME SSD (look up R/W stats :O), I didn't pay the prices listed on PCPartPicker. I didn't splurge too much.

Any feedback towards GPU's, monitors, overclocking, or weak parts in my build is welcome.

First thing I'd do is return or bin the case. Then return the PSU, RAM and motherboard if possible. There are better options. How much did you pay for the 8086k and the SSD?

What is your budget for the rest of your specs?

Lol, not a fan of my build?

I'm not trying to break the bank, but case and RAM had good reviews for the cost.

CPU was essentially free, SSD was $85

Not really. The case is trash and PSU is fine but non moudlar, and really doesn't belong in a system like this at all IMO. You could have got RAM with better timings for the same price, or saved a little bt of money on RAM. It's not a huge issue, but it definitely isn't what I'd have gone for. If the CPU was "essentially free", then I guess that works lmao. The motherboard is fine but there are far better alternatives for $150. It's a $120, maybe $125 mobo at most.
