omg that`s an incredible expensive monitor. I`v been gaming on PC for years and I have triple OMEN 24.5 in 144hz 1080p monitors. Personally I would go for two monitors and def not get an ultra wide one but that`s just me.

How come you'd rather two monitors over a widescreen, if you don't mind me asking?

One thing to note about that monitor is that it uses a VA panel. This means that it will have better contrast than both a TN and IPS panel, but will have worse viewing angles and colour reproduction than a IPS panel. As it is a VA panel it will also suffer from 'ghosting', especially when transitioning from black to lighter colours. If this isn't something that bothers you or you don't notice it then it doesn't matter.

You may want to consider looking at the Acer x34P. It has the exact same specs but is an IPS panel instead. IPS panels will suffer from backlight bleed and IPS glow, but if you're willing to play 'panel lottery' then you can keep this minimal.

If the PC is primarily for gaming then I'd personally suggest to go with an IPS panel over a VA panel. However, this is all personal preference and it would be best to try both out if possible to see which you like best.

I've read quite a bit about the ghosting issues, BLB etc, but as it's my first actual gaming monitor/setup I probably wouldn't notice anything other than a vast improvement on the HP Pavilion dv7 that I currently use haha! I'll have a look at some comparisons on YouTube etc as I don't have the option to view them in person at the moment sadly. But yes it will be heavily utilised for gaming so I'll look more into the x34P option - plus it's only an extra 50 pounds which isn't bad all things considered!

I've read quite a bit about the ghosting issues, BLB etc, but as it's my first actual gaming monitor/setup I probably wouldn't notice anything other than a vast improvement on the HP Pavilion dv7 that I currently use haha! No problem! Also, as you already have a monitor, it may be worth waiting a couple months if you can. LG will be releasing (if it doesn't get delayed again) a new panel with nano-IPS technology and a native 120hz w/G-Sync, rather than having to overclock from 100hz.

The sad thing is that I actually don't have a monitor yet as my current piece of kit is a laptop hahaha. I do like the look of the x34P though and it seems to have more community support as a superior monitor for gaming so I'll probably go with that one!
