Synopsis (Wikipedia):

WWE '13 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and published by THQ (later by 2K Sports) for PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. It is the second game in the WWE (now WWE 2K) series and the 14th overall in the combined series. It is the sequel to WWE '12 and is succeeded by WWE 2K14. It was released on October 30, 2012, in North America and November 2, 2012, in United Kingdom. It is also the final WWE game to be published by THQ before the company's demise in January 2013, thus ending the WWE/THQ relationship after 13 years.

The game focuses on the Attitude Era of WWE, replacing its Road to WrestleMania Mode with an Attitude Era Mode where the player plays through the Attitude Era in six different story-lines. The game also brings back its modified "Predator Technology engine", adding in a new audio system called WWE Live. The game is said to be the second phase of a "Revolution" in WWE video games, with cover athlete CM Punk taking charge. Following its release, the game received positive reviews from the critics and was nominated for the Spike Video Game Award for Best Individual Sports Game. This is also the last WWE game to be released on the Wii and the last until WWE 2K18 to be released for a Nintendo console.

Gameplay:

Has the previous year, WWE 13 is running on a engine called "Predator Technology 2.0", this would allow more fluid animations along with 300+ new moves. The weight detection system wouldn't allow the player to have a smaller wrestler like Rey Mysterio lift up someone like the Big Show, making the game more realistic. WWE 13 also added special moves for players to do with the Wrestlers in game like announce table breaks, along with barricade spears. We were also blessed with a revamped audio system to make the WWE experience even more realistic for the players. WWE 13 has added the "Special Guest Referee Match" for the first time since Smackdown vs. Raw 2007. Online play would have AI for players who would leave/disconnect during mid-game. In this year's WWE franchise game, we would introduce 10 brand new Superstars into the ring of Videogame Wrestling!

Story Modes:

Attitude Era Mode:

WWE 13 introduced the "Attitude Era Mode" in replacement of the traditional Road to Wrestlemania Game Mode seen in previous WWE Franchise Games. It would take the player threw the Monday Night Raw Wars with WCW limited in the game has a fun "blast to the past" mode, leaving the players only to play the WWE side of the Monday Night Wars. WWE put time into mode with amazing cut-scenes and 20+ videos from real-life moments of the Monday Night Wars. Entrances, Attires and may other things were recreated just for this game mode so the player could get a more realistic experience towards the game. Chapter of the Game would include historic scenes like "The Rise of DX", Austin 3:16 and more makes this a favourite for older fans but also get younger fans the taste of the Attitude Era!. With over 100+ unlockable content with the game mode, 65+ matches and a "Attitude Era Mode" only commentary team in Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler alongside with lots of WWE Legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley, DX and plenty more! makes this game-mode one of the best in the WWE franchise video-game history!

Universe Mode:

WWE 13 would return a popular "Universe Mode" to that year's franchise game. This year it was guided by Paul Heyman along with the player. You would have control of WWE, but more organised. Has each show would have a certain amount of Superstars and Divas with the championships belts originally controlled by that show, which would be default hold by the actual champion when the game was released. You could also create some things of your own in this game-mode like your own PPV and change the entire originality behind a pre-made one by WWE. This would give you the option to attack at cut-scenes and over 200+ story-lines placed in the mode for the player to enjoy. This would leave you in the hands of how each PPV and show turn out and if you ever needed a reset there is always a button.

Graphics:

Form previous WWE franchise games, players wanted updated material in this year's game as voted and that's what THQ and WWE made sure of. Blessed with a new weight detection system as mentioned in the Gameplay section. We also got a better contextual animation to make the superstars/divas look more realistic in game. That would leave us with Automatic attack homing to make sure the player's character is always ready to strike the opponent in game. As stated before WWE used a new engine which only included a few new features making it better but similar to WWE 12's "Predator Technology 1.0"

Nice review man, I didn't know these games had different story modes. Seems like you could have added more in the gameplay section but I think what needed to be said was. The graphics between those 2 games in the video is insane
