Hey guys, so im going to be going off to college soon and im in need of a new laptop. My budget is around $1000, im really unsure of what I want to get as there are so many different options - so I wanted to get some opinions on here. Im looking for a pc that can play most games at high to ultra graphics with 60 frames, and has a somewhat decent battery life. Thanks so much guys!

Not for a grand your not...

A high end gaming laptop is Very expensive.

They are like 1500 GBP so like nearly double your budget, what i would say is if you need a laptop for your studies get something cheap and reliable and if you want to game too buy a cheap second hand build and bang a new PSU in there and you should be good to go.

I feel like you're going to have a very difficult time find a laptop that is good and portable for college, and capable at running games at max settings for $1000.

Can you play games on that at max settings?

You can get a nicer laptop if you don't prioritize games. I would get a Huawei MateBook X Pro or Dell XPS 13 (9360 and 9370 are both fine).

Everyone saying you will have a difficult time finding a lap top that can play most games maxed at 60 fps are wrong. I spent $1200 on a HP Omen.
12 gb ram
i7 7700hq
Radeon Rx 580 8gb.
So far the games I've played maxed out at 60fps with no issues. I know omen does have another lap top with the GTX 1060 in it not sure the price or the exact specs.

This laptop is awesome I got it for college also and I have no regrets buying it.
