Title explains itself basically. I want to switch my exhaust fan to an intake fan and was wondering if i could just reverse the fan blades. I cant just switch it around because the fan is an RGB fan and would like to see the leds. More specifically is the NZXT Aer 140

You would still see the LEDs when you flip it? they are in the middle not on the blades

The LEDs on the NZXT Aer fans are not on the middle of the fan at all, it's a ring around the outside of the blades and is only on one side of the fan.

OP - If you're running an NZXT Aer in the rear as exhaust, the LEDs should be facing the inside of the case, so they should be visible? If you're running them as intake, on the front or top, then the LEDs will face outside the case, which is why you typically see the LEDs on the front panel.

No, you won't be able to remove the fan blades from the housing and flip it around. You'd have to do some modifications for it to potentially work. If you want fans that you can run in the front as intake and still see the LEDs inside the case, then you'd want something like the Corsair ML RGB fans.

My question in all of this is why do you want it as an intake fan? Airflow in a case is very delicate and IMO, swapping the fan around just for the sakes of it won't impact your temperature's, but you're making it more of a hassle than it's worth.

What I tend to do is have the exhaust fan barley spinning but just enough that air passes over the mosfets and gets exhausted out the back. This allows for the majority of the hot air caused by the GPU and CPU to be removed from the top fans.

Oww, cheeky edit

Also, with regards to this whole "will you see the are gee bee ell Eee D's" I'd say try it and find out. It's only 4 screws holding the fan in which are super easy to get to. Don't be scared to open your rig and see what's going on. I mean, don't do a me and start touching specifics when running a benchmark because you're too poor to get an Infrared thermometer...
