Yeah... he doesn't know what he's talking about really.
You would need a new Mobo/Cpu for that.
I would say it really depends on your budget, if you don't want to spend that much money I'd just upgrade to 16gb of ram. Just make sure its all the same frequency and timing.

There's plenty you could upgrade. Unfortunately, we don't know what you're looking to improve or what your budget/currency for upgrades is so we can't really help.
