I'm still trying to buy a laptop and still don't know exactly what all the numbers mean. These are the two I've narrowed it down to though, which one do you think I should get?
MSI G73 8RC: $1,149
17.3" screen
1920 x 1080 display
Intel core I7-8750H
16GB RAM
1TB HDD
128GB SSD
2.2 Gigahertz Processor Speed
GTX 1050 card
Windows 10 operating system
Dell G7: $879.99
15.6" screen
1920 x 1080 display
Intel core I7-8750H
8GB RAM
256 GB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with Max-Q Design
Windows 10 operating system
My current computer is:
15.6" screen
1366x768 (32 bit) (60Hz) display
AMD A10 4 core processor
6GB RAM
1TB HDD? (C: says 912GB)
AMD Radeon R5 graphics processor (0x9874)
Windows 10 64 bit

Those are 2 pretty different laptops, in various different ways.
What are you planning on doing with the laptop?

Out of raw performance, the second laptop is better due to that 1060. 8GB of RAM is very much usable so the only real issue is mass storage which you can overcome and that smaller screen.

The only things I do on my computer are watch Youtube videos and sometimes I'll get into a kick of playing a 317 version of an RSPS (basically an easy version of 07 Runescape). I don't do any hard core gaming or any of that, I just want a better computer while I have a job that supports the funds to get nicer things.
I chose kinda the top of the line in my price category, as well as one that is similar but a lot cheaper. Both are a huge step up from my current configuration, but is the MSI going to be worth the extra $270?

I ended up going with the Lenovo Y530. It has the same specs (minus screen size) as the MSI, but more storage like the G7 and it's cheaper with most of the ports in the back which I love.
