LeBron James to sign 4-year, $154 million contract with the Lakers in massive free agency move.
I needed to share this with y'all, what do you guys think? Many expected this to happen (including myself, GO CELTICS!), but now that it's a reality, how does this change the East? The West? Do you think LeBron's gonna be able to get enough star power out there to challenge the Warriors?

LeBron James will sign a four-year, $154 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to reports.
James became a free agent on Friday by opting out of the final year of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the Lakers rumored to be a contender to land him.
The move is the third of James' career -- he left the Cavaliers in 2010 to join the Miami Heat, then left the Heat in 2014 to join the Cavaliers again.
After four straight Finals runs, rumors began circulating last summer that James would consider a move to another team, particularly the Lakers. James has two homes in Los Angeles and a production company in L.A.
In moving, James is expected to try to lure other star players with him to create another super-team and contender to the Golden State Warriors.
Reports in recent days have said the Lakers were trying to trade for Kawhi Leonard, believing the San Antonio Spurs star forward would help lure James to Los Angeles. Cleveland.com's Vardon reported that James' mind would not be made up with or without Leonard landing with the Lakers.
The Lakers appeared to suffer a blow early in free agency when Paul George, reported to be looking at the Lakers in free agency, decided to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, taking one potential star off the table. The Lakers are still reportedly looking into trades with the Spurs to land Leonard, who reportedly plans to join the Lakers in 2019 when he becomes a free agent.

They've still got to form a team around him; Kawhi Leonard WANTS to be a Laker, he wants to play with Lebron. That'll be a great first step for the Lakers to move in the right direction.
I saw a tweet that said:
"LeBron making the Cavs trade for Clarkson and Nance to get their contracts out of LA is an all-time chess move."
I don't usually believe in these theories but this one seems so valid, for some reason. Maybe he was thinking of making the move even before the Playoffs?
Anyway, the Cavs were straight DOO-DOO this last season; Lebron carried them to where they got, the sweep was inevitable in the long run.

That's a great point to be honest, the big issue with Kawhi is his contract, and given that he's been so adamant about the relationship in San Antonio being done, it'll be next year at the latest that he's there with LeBron. Even with who they have now, LeBron in addition to Ball, Kuzma, and Randle, they've got already a roster that's much better than Cleveland's.
That tweet is fascinating however, I'm with you I normally don't read too much into those tidbits but it really could be true, it was rumored a year ago that he was thinking of LA as his next destination. Completely agree with your sentiment on him carrying the Cavs as well, one of the best individual efforts I've ever seen in sports. He deserved the award over Harden this year by a longshot.

Lol already got a bunch of new lakers fans on the timelines.
Don't watch to much basketball, but this would mean he wouldn't play the warriors in the finals but have to out play them during the season correct? if so if they can get atleast one more star I think the lakers might be able to take it.
but Go Bulls! lol

Yeah man it means it's either gonna be the warriors of lakers versus the Eastern conference champions, who will more than likely be the Celtics or sixers. I'd agree, if the lakers get kahwi it's game over.

As a person from Cleveland and a long time cavs fan, it was needed. He was doing way too much, and he needs more players to keep up with his pace.
I'm not saying match it, but at least put in more. i felt he was gonna burn his self out in cleveland the way he had/needed to play. I wonder if it woud've been the same outcome if Kevin Love wasn't injured.
