Ok my laptop is as slow as #@$^ im thinking of buying two 1 gig memory modules however i took the ones out of my laptop they are DDR's and the ones i am going to buy are DDR2'S
are they the same?
will they work?

Nope, think of RAM like a KV. Only certain KVs are compatible with certain motherboards. You'll have to get DDR1 RAM to have your motherboard be able to read it. I recommend getting a new computer because 2 DDR1 sticks would be about 80 dollars, and those are near the cheapest. You can get a nice DDR2/3 system for around $300.

Yeah but my laptop is only running 512 mb of ram and everyone is telling me that is the biggest speed factor
