i got my 144hz monitor today and got my GTX 1070Ti 2days ago and never had any temperature problems but once i got my monitor my FPS on fortnite was jumping from 200+ to less than 100 but only for a second and it will go back up but it was quite frequent ive turned my fan up to 70% on my Palit thunder master program was that a good idea? or should i change it back to the default 43%?

ive never had a GPU that i could change any of that stuff but when i looked on speccy to see the temperatures the CPU temp was around 65-70*C? before i got my monitor it didnt go over 55*C, also my GPU was at like 70-74*C? when before i got the monitor it wasnt going above 65*C? are these temps too hot? i just dont want to be breaking my new PC

im just a bit worried because its the first time my temps have went to an orange colour on speccy

and i dont see how getting my new monitor affected my CPU and GPU temps?

here are my temps when not on any game: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Thanks

You'll be fine unless your parts get to 85+ C. Drawing the extra frames causes extra load so it's going to be under a heavier load thus reaukt I being hotter. I recommend turning down specific settings in fortnite such as shadows and enabling Vsync and max frame rate.

You can leave it on that, or turn it down and leave it on auto. Just a fan not going to do much damage unless you are running it at 100% all the time and even then it's fine, just really loud.
