There's plenty of terrible gold rated units and wattage is irrelevant.

Also again, you'd be wasting money IMO getting a GTX 1080 for 1080p60Hz, especially since you only have a 60GB SSD.

well a good 1070ti can kinda be overclocked to 1080 stuff and performance almost anyways. That said I would rather get a 1080, prices are nicer again now. 11 series is right around the corner...but we really don't know pricing yet or just how much better it really is.....

Why would you need to know that when all i was asking is if the motherboard would be alright to use a 1080 on seeing as it is a high end card on a low end motherboard

Right, well after just re-reading this entire thread, here's what we know.

You want to upgrade your GPU for Fallout 76 which hasn't been released yet
You have an 80plus gold unknown power supply
Your case is big enough in your words which is fine.

So there's a £50 difference there. This powersupply that we don't know anything about yet might need to be changed. So if you're on a tight budget, you could use that £50 to get you a new Powersupply.

The motherboard is irrelevant at this point. You plug it in and it'll work. That said, if you don't have a decent PSU, then you could nuke your PSU, Mobo, CPU, GPU ect all in one.

These are just some of the options that I'd be looking at. I havn't even started talking about if you want high refresh rate monitors.

I say 1070Ti all day unless you can get a GTX 1080 for within like £25 of the 1070Ti. OC the 1070Ti and you basically have a 1080, the CUDA core difference is so minimal. That said, you have a 1080p monitor, anything more than an RX 580 or GTX 1060 is wasted money IMO.

The TX650M or TX750M(whichever you have) is a solid unit, so you're fine there.

So, if you're going with a 1070Ti/1080, here's what I'd get;

Both absolute beasts, and I'd definitely take an RX 580 over the 1060 but either GPU is a solid choice for 1080p60Hz.

Then, I'd buy this;

so you have a total of 16GB RAM, and you've still saved at least £80 over a GTX 1070Ti or £130+ over a GTX 1080.

Since you've got an unlocked CPU, you could even take that extra £80-130 and get yourself a Z270 motherboard to overclock your 7600k. You can get a basic Z270 mobo for £70;

all amazing replies, i am planning on getting a 4k monitor and budget isn't really a problem. I just want something for the long run which i won't have to upgrade for a few years
