I started with Pro Tools but I now use Logic Pro X, I got just the waves mercury bundle and all my stuff is sounding really good.

It really depends on how deep you want to get into making music. I personally use FL Studio 12 (I wish I had FL20). You could look into Garageband for Mac (though it's basic) Abelton. Reaper for live recordings via guitar, bass, drums. etc etc.

If you can get it though FL20 is insanely good.

Reason 10 is good, it gets complicated but when you get it down and know how to do it it's easier. They have a list on the side with all the instruments and fx and other mastering essentials.

I use Logic Pro X as my DAW. Both of my older brothers use FL Studio.
