I recently bought a 24" ASUS monitor and I'm loving it! It's 1ms response time, amazing picture, and great for gaming/movies + a lot more. I bought mine for like $140 or so from a pawn shop to i got lucky but they typically go for $250+
I recommend you check it out man: ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
And go here to see what it offers: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

No need to spend anymore than that for a monitor for an Xbox. 144Hz monitor is a waste of money.
$270 isn't cheaper than retail price, and he said he'd be using it for Xbox and maybe as an external monitor for his laptop, 144Hz is absolutely a waste of money. It also means he would have to get a TN panel, instead of IPS which will have better colours and viewing angles.

13 wroteThats not what i meant. I was implying that i got mine like 80% off retail price from the original $270 so i myself bought a practically new monitor for dirt cheap. I agree that it's a waste of money but if you have money to blow, go for itFoam wrote13 wrote [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]Not a waste if you do both Xbox and Pc gaming & get it a lot cheaper than retail price lol

That's not what you said, and you linked a $270 monitor.

That doesn't even make any sense, but regardless, OP won't be utilising the 144Hz refresh rate of the monitor so it's just wasted money for no reason, and will actually be a worse experience for him since 1080p 144Hz is only available on TN panels, which like I said has worse colours/viewing angles than 1080p 60Hz IPS monitors. Spending any more than $100-110 tops for an Xbox/laptop secondary monitor is just pointless.

If anything, he should go 4k if he just has "money to blow" rather than 1080p 144Hz, but he's looking at around $300 for a decent 4k monitor which is over his budget.
