I'm looking to paint my car an F80 blue from the stock black it is now since it's too hard to keep clean and scratch free? How much would a solid paint job run me?

Too much goes into it. What exact color of blue first off? Are you wanting to do the engine bay and door jambs as well? Is there any fixing of scratches or just a clean and spray?
Really you're looking at between $500 and $10k. Blue is still a hard color to keep clean, not as hard as black but still very difficult unless you're going to a light baby blue.
Your budget option would be a straight blue (the solid color of the pigment), you do all the prep work such as taping and fixing any scratches, basically if all they do is do a wipe down with denatured alcohol and spray it (just the car and maybe door jambs but not the engine bay) you'd be looking at around $500-750 IF they will allow you to do that. Some shops will rip all your taping and masking off and do it themselves for their quality and charge you for it.
Masking the car properly will probably cost another $300. This is just for the car, to do jambs as well you're probably looking at $500-$1k depending on how much plastic there is and what all needs to be masked.
If you want them to fix the body work such as dents and scratches, now you're talking a lot of money.
Also what level of paint do you want? Do you want them to strip the current paint and re primer and paint the car? Do you want them to scuff the current paint and paint over it without primer? That's more labor that will cost you a lot.

If you walk into a shop and say I want a vehicle blue, they will laugh at you. There are 24 STANDARD shades of blue ranging from the blue that almost looks black all the way to the blue you see in the sky or in the ocean at the Bahamas. WHAT BLUE DO YOU WANT???
Here is what you need to decide.
What color blue?
Is it flat blue or metallic blue?
Base coat / clear coat over current paint or strip and completely redo paint?
Are the door jambs and engine bay getting painted?
Is there any current paint damage that you want fixed such as scratches, knicks, etc.
Hell I can get my uncle Joe Bob out at your place and paint your car blue with some rattle cans for under $100 and a case of beer. If you want some fancy shade of metallic blue with all the paint corrected and the door jambs / engine bay are getting painted to with the best masking job available, well now you're looking in the $10k+ range.

He said "F80 blue". I assume he means the blue paint of a BMW M3 F80. From what I have read online that color is called "Yas Marina Blue Metallic"... BMW Color Code: B68

wrap it.
Painting is expensive and often ruins the value of the car if you wish to resell at some point.

Sorry guys, for some reason I read that as the type of car was an F80 lol.
Wrap is just as expensive and doesn't last very long. Plastidip would be the cheap alternative.

The life expectancy of a wrap is 7-10 years, which is pretty good considering you can see newer cars with worse paint in your day to day activities.
As for Plastidip. It's tacky, and likely doesn't come in the f80 blue colour he was looking for. Wraps are pretty easily colour matched.
OP: If this is still happening, you'd probably be better of waiting. No point in spending money on a car you plan on moving on down the road within the near future.
