Is this a good motherboard to pair with a Ryzen 1700? I've read a lot of bad reviews on it. My other option is the Asus prime b350-Plus. Which one should I get?

Go with whatever is cheapest apart from if you plan on overclock. Even then, you could stick out the b350 board

Probably not planning on overclocking. The asus just has such better reviews, but i keep hearing to go x370 for Ryzen 7. Also on Asrocks website it doesn't show the Corsair vengeance 2x8gb ram listed as compatible that I want to use. Is this right? Seems like pretty popular ram option.

Also price is about the same. Another option is the msi b350 tomahawk. All these are the same price range. Which one is best?

Can we keep it to one thread? 5 is just confusing.
Since it looked like you had a 4k monitor from your inital threads, I recommended a parts list based on that. Since you don't have a monitor, it would be much simpler if you told us your budget for everything, that way we can recommend a parts list without needing 5 threads. You'd be better off saving some money by grabbing a 4GB RX 580 or something, or dropping from R7 to an R5 1600/2600 and getting a 1440p monitor IMO, instead of going 1080p.
As for motherboard, chipset doesn't dictate quality. Some B350 boards are better than low end X370 ones. The X370 Pro4 and B350 Prime are both mediocre motherboards, and both will be fine for an R7 1700 at stock speeds. Get whichever you prefer the look of and/or is priced better.

Ill keep it all on here from now on lol. I actually already bought the rx 580 8gb on amazon since it was 229.99 plus a 20 dollar mail in rebate. Felt like that was too good a deal to pass up. I was going to buy a 1440p monitor from someone for a great price but that fell through.
Here is the rest of the parts I plan on ordering today [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] I want to order everything off amazon prime (I'm impatient) I can maybe squeeze it into my budget for one of these 1440 monitors [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] or [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Better PSU and SSD. I'd probably just get this B450 motherboard for something in the $80-90 ange;

The Acer 1440p monitor is a better choice than the AOC one, so I'd get that Acer monitor. If you want something cheaper, then I'd get this;

Thank you very much. Looks like a solid list and I'm going to be ordering very shortly. Just one quick thing, the b450 is sold out on amazon at that price and other vendors are selling for 109. Is there any major differences between the 350 and 450?

B450 is a newer chipset, the motherboards are all newer so a little better and B450 boards typically have better memory compatibility than B350, but B350 is absolutely fine. Here's another B450 mobo which is in stock though if you're interested;

Otherwise, B350 Pro4, X370 Pro4, B350 Prime Plus, B350 Tomahawk, B350 PC Mate are all perfectly good options.

Just placed my order for everything minus the monitor. Thanks for all the help 13. Also i decided to go with the 3200 ram for only 5 bucks more. And i went with the B450 bazooka on your suggestion. now I just need to look into monitors, ill probably end up going with that Acer 1440 one. Now lets just hope the build goes smoothly lol. Never built a PC before so it will be a first for me.
