Ninja wrote Okay so I'm in a bit of a struggle at the moment, I've put in an offer of $1,100 for a gamertag which I could just about afford. Now that I've beeb outbid, I feel bad for the person I offered it to, he seems like a genuine good bloke. I've bern offered a loan of £1000 with VERY high interest. In total I'd have to pay back £1300+.

I have also been suspended from work due to gross misconduct, so I'm getting less pay at the end of the month. Is this s bad idea taking a loan to buy this? I mean I genuinely really want this tag.

Please don't comment bs stuff about spending so much money on a gamertag, it's my money, i can spend it on £1000 worth of toilet roll if I wanted to.

Really looking for some proper advice..

The fact that you're considering this and asking for financial support on TTG tells me that this isnt a good idea. I mean if you're having consistant and stable money coming in then by all means do ehat you want. But! If it for sure means you having to pull a loan out then you my good Sir, are crazy!! please don't do it. There's alot of stress that can follow with it like someone had already told you..

Thread gave me a good giggle ngl.

The fact you're even considering this in your current situation, is laughable.

But you do what you wanna do. The rest of the thread should give many reasons as to why it's a shit idea.

Touching on this again, if this loan offer is from a micro/payday lender that's charging something akin to a 20% establishment fee + 4% monthly service fee, read your loan contact very, very carefully if you decide to make this decision.

The penalties for missed payment are, in most cases, severe and you can end up owing multiple times more than you borrow if you **** around.

Yo I'm all down for people spending their hard earned money on whatever they want but getting a loan for a gamertag is nonsense in my opinion. Plus you said you got laid off or don't have a job at the moment which should make you want to save the money even more. Also you got scammed multiple times in the past I believe and now your willing to risk 1k in a loan just for a gamertag. Again I'm not hating especially if you already had the funds ready and then some but again the idea of a loan for a gt is just beyond me.

At the end of the day it's your decision but I would not recommend it unless you had an abundance of money and even then personally I would not put up 1k for a gamertag.

Just do it, shit don't let other people tell you what to do with your money. If that's what you want go for it.
