Yeah I am seriously thinking of starting on a 600, i've ridden 250cc dirt bikes before not sure the difference between dirt bikes and street bikes but there are some cheap 600s around me I might just pick one up as a starter.

KTM 390 are nice starter bikes, or a MT 07 it all depends on your budget My first propa bike apart from dirt bikes was a 600cc Hornet. Then I moved onto a GSXR 600cc K4. Now I'm bikeless and have to be normal and drive a car oh how times change.

I started on a 2003 CBR 600rr with almost 0 riding experience. I bought and rode my Kawasaki KX250f maybe 3 times before buying my 600.. so I was still learning how not to kill my bike when letting out the clutch. I had 0 issues learning and looking back I absolutely think I made the right choice. Super happy I didn't start on something smaller. It really just depends on the kind of person you are tho, and what you plan on doing with your bike. If you think you'll be wanting to go faster around corners and such in the future, might as well just snatch a 600. But if you're the kind of person to never speed or anything, kind of scared of the idea, might as well buy a 250. 600's are super easy to learn on, don't let anybody tell you that it's too much power to start on. I could have started on a 1000 and been fine.. the only time you're going to wheelie it is if you're trying to. Yes, it's dangerous when starting but that's why you have somebody teach you. You could do the same exact thing dumping a clutch on a 300 and dumping it.
