I'm upset with the state of first person shooters. Anyone feel the same?

I've been playing FPS games since Medal Of Honor Rising Sun was released in 2003, I guess you could say i'm a veteran but lately these fps shooter games seem to get worse and worse each year. I have resorted to playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare due to the crazy amount of gadgets and tools used in the newer cods and games. Who in their right mind would think it'd be good to add a gun where if you shoot it once you can get up to 5 kills? [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .

I am just sad man, I can't get with overwatch or fortnite anything really. I can't be the only one.

I agree to a certain extent. For example the call of duty scene has absolutely gone to shit. 100% and if you disagree you aren't no OG so smd

The genre needs a simplification. Call of Duty needs to stop trying to be overwatch and pubg. Battlefield needs to stop being bastardised with micro transactions. I'm not too sure about CSGO but I'm sure someone has something to say in my stead.

In recent years COD has gone to shite I do agree, but I do wish they would just go back to how Black ops 1 was and every cod before that. The only transactions they need are the map packs. If they would do that, I could get back into the game.

We almost need a new 007: Goldeneye-type game to bring back some vigor to this genre of games. Don't get me wrong, I like where FPS games have progressed to this point but I don't like where they are headed (i.e. Overwatch & Fortnite). Personally, I have tried to avoid FPS games because nothing really catches my eyes anymore or if it does I can't play it for too long due to the fact that they're all so repetitive with little to no newly structured content. But graphics are getting better at least.

I have to agree a bit. The FPS scene is alot worse that it used to be. However games like CS:GO are not in any way being updated to become like futuristic and what not. If you want to PC game, I suggest it however it will be difficult to get used to all the strategies and tactics you need to be good at the game.

Yeah I agree.

Haven't played much of any fps games since cod Ghosts since I've just seen them go down hill. They also have way too many things going on in the newer cods it seems. I liked the simplicity of cod4, waw and mw2.
