The build is coming to an end and I haven't pulled the trigger on a monitor yet! Just waiting on CPU and CPU cooler to arrive and then all I will need is a monitor. I have selected the Dell S2716DG but I continue to hear mixed reviews. Color Banding issues and such.

Here is my PC build
For my monitor I would like to stay under 600, I would definitely like to stay cheaper if possible as the Dell is a very good price.

Any help with monitors? Still looking, The new PC is built and playing on an old 60hz 1080p monitor just doesn't do it justice. Still trying to stay under 600$, 27inch, 144hz +, would like to stay around 1 ms response, just don't know to much about TN or IPS panels, and which monitors are good/bad/ great! Thanks in Advance

Stand with this monitor is kinda crappy so you'd want to use a separate stand or monitor arm most likely. Or you can spend a bit more for the same monitor with a better stand;

but if you're spending that much, you might as well spend the extra $20-25 for an MG279Q;

If you want G-Sync;

So with the monitors does 1 ms to 4 ms mean to much in gaming? And i think G-Sync would be worth it with my 1080ti? but then i am not to familiar.

I have done some more research and people are saying

No, I definitely wouldn't pay $600 for a TN panel. TN will have inferior colours and viewing angles compared to an IPS or VA panel. You can utilise G-Sync with your 1080Ti but it's arguably fairly useless if you're properly utilising your high refresh rate monitor, as in actually running games at 120+ FPS. G-Sync would be more beneficial at lower frame rates IMO, so when you're playing more demanding games. Up to you if it's worth the fairly huge cost increase.

No, you're not going to notice any significant difference between 1ms and 4ms response times, for the most part. The refresh rate is much more of a noticeable difference. IPS panels tend to have slower response times than TN, but the benefits of an IPS panel outweigh the slightly worse response times IMO.

"Response time" is a bullshit and misrepresented stat that you can mostly ignore. Use a quality review site like TFTCentral or RTINGS to see how a monitor will actually perform.

Okay thanks, I was on the mindset that it had to be 1ms for gaming period. But i did look into it and IPS seems to be better in color over TN is that correct?
