I'm looking to build myself a new PC for the first time, and I'm having trouble creating a shopping list.

Budget: $1200 to $1500 USD

Peripherals and Monitors: I already have a great mouse and keyboard. Also, I have two older monitors that still work fine at the moment but may need replacing soon (a Syncmaster 2494LW and a Viewsonic VA903).

Games: Primarily Overwatch, Guild Wars 2, and Warframe, but I also have a large assortment of random steam games (none of which are as resource-intensive as the first three though).

Software: Primarily Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Adobe Premiere. I also do a lot of programming and audio production work (though this stuff isn't very resource intensive).

Aesthetics: I like my workstations looking as no-nonsense as possible usually. Call me un-creative, but there is just something satisfying about a plain looking black computer tower. While I'm not opposed to a fancier tower, I prefer to keep lights to a minimum.

Details: I already have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 from my current machine that I would like to continue using (I absolutely love this GPU), as well as a 1TB Internal SSD and a 3 TB Internal HDD. I also currently use 24 GB of RAM (though its a few years old and I doubt it will be compatible with a new motherboard), so I will probably want at minimum that much RAM for this build, if not more. I ALSO want to upgrade from Windows 7 Professional (I used Professional to support my 24GB of RAM) to Windows 10 Home. My current workstation (if anyone is wondering) is a Dell XPS 8700.

Rebates/Promos: None that I know of.

When: Sooner rather than later. I would like to start building this in the near future.

My hope is that because I already have (somewhat) decent peripherals as well as a GPU and storage that I can divert more money towards getting a good processor, motherboard, and ram. Thanks in advance!
