Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but dont let it limit you.
I used to play basketball but had a bad accident which ruined my knees. I genuinely thought my world was falling down around me as basketball was my life.
I didnt let it stop me, i looked into sports with less impact on my knees. It is a limited list unfortunately. But now I swim and cycle. I do Way of the Roses each year for charity here in the UK and have built a massive social group from that alone.

In terms of your pain, not alot I can do there. I was on Co-codamol for along time and the side effects out weigh the benefits.
In terms of dealing with nerve pain check with your doc to see if you have a deficiency of B12 as there are supplements or even injections which can relieve this.

Whatever it is you choose to do with your future, try not to let it get on top of you.

That first bit was actually quite motivational so thanks for that!
I'll have a look into other things that won't affect me or won't cause further damage at least, a new hobby

I got new pain meds that pushed me into another realm, problem was, they got be stone beyond anything and the pain was still there I was sitting out of my face and the pain just didn't go away, definitely hushed it down a bit but was still there

I'll ask for my bloods to be taken about the B12

Thanks a lot man! <3

ll wrote Something changed in your life physically that would stick with you for the rest of your life and stopped you doing a lot of physical activities

Examples:
Running long distances
Walking long distances
Joining the army
Pain every single day of your life
Sleepless nights
Bunch of medications
The inability to focus on work/education due to pain

If you were told you had to live with it for the rest of your life and it will only get worse, how would you react/what things would you do in the early stages?

Backstory to the question(based on myself, ignore if you think it'll make your answer subjective)
I have been diagnosed with a type of degenerative neuropathy, some nerves in my back and and left leg are damaged/working incorrectly/dying

Pain started around two years ago and the doctors couldn't ever really pin point what was going on, till two years later(now) enough had changed that it was noticeable

It only goes down hill from here really unfortunately, there is no way to treat or repair, just pain management

I was on a drug called co-codamol which is narcotic based and it took a while to get used to the side affects i.e. tiredness/euphoria/dizzyness etc

Now they know what it is, I need to go up to a higher pain management medication which I'll need to adjust to again

Feel a bit gutted really :/ I'm 21 and I'm forever now fecked with a bum leg, there's a lot of things that are going to suddenly go out of my reach in the next few years and it's a bit frightening I guess

It's at the point right now, I could run a marathon on Tramadol(UK)/Oxycodone(US) but if I did it, the further damage that would take place from running one would prevent me running one ever again kind of thing

Sorry for all the heavy thoughts and stuff, better to let it out in front of strangers instead of having my friends and family over think about me

Honestly, I would continue doing what I'm doing. I joined the military saying Inwould die for my country
