My girlfriends brother built a computer a while ago and wont boot up anymore. Any suggestions on what I should do about this isuue?

We need more information regarding this.

Does it power up, start too boot, and just crash?
With this, I would cycle the power. Unplug the PCs power supply from the back port, flick the I/O switch off and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to cycle the remaining power inside of it. It can sometimes cause the PC not to boot correctly. > Have used this myself.
Does the GPU get detected?
Does the PC get NO detection of power being received when you hit the power button(Literally nothing happens)?
