Yeah, that's eBay. eBay is a place for people to sell pre-owned items, were you not aware? You don't compare the price of a used product to another completely new, unboxed product. The GTX 1080Ti is still a £600+ GPU. I'm sure I could find a used 1080Ti for £163;400 if I looked hard enough, doesn't make it a £400 GPU just because I found one used for that price.

anyways on the topic at hand personally id buy second hand because its cheaper but buying new and second hand does have its pros and cons as i have stated previously if you were to read rather then gunning against my suggestion =)

anyway OP can make up his mind for himself and he doesn't need us nitpicking at each other as im pretty sure you have loads of things to be doing in your important time rather then stating obvious things and stop being so hard headed on NEW stuff as there is such thing as second hand items also if you want to research up about that =)

That's fine, recommend buying used if you want. I've done it several times recently, but it still doesn't make the 1080Ti a £500 GPU. You do not compare used prices to a brand new, in box item that has just launched. I never "gunned against your suggestion", simply corrected you because OP might not be interested in buying used, we don't know. You also never even mentioned that you were specifically talking about used GPUs so how was anyone supposed to just know what you were talking about?

Well rather than delve into an argument and derail OP's topic over the risk/reward with buying PC parts second hand on ebay;

@OP If you feel comfortable buying a second hand GPU, then yes there are options out there to get some more bang for your buck, if you would prefer a New GPU to avoid possible overhead problems (GPU's could still come DOA from factory but that's unlikely and covered anyways by the Manufacturer), buying a new one would avoid those issues.

If you're buying new, RTX 2070 would probably be best bet if you're looking for a 400-500 Pound card, if you're looking for 1080ti performance at 500 Pound range, second hand cards are an option. It's up to you and how much risk you're willing to take.

i wouldnt be talking about a bunk bed would i? im just stating that it might be beneficial to his scenario of getting a second hand rather then brand new

also the word you are looking for is RETAIL PRICE which everyone knows is more expensive then second hand (SHOCK HORROR!) but anyhow lets both stop talking nonsense and let OP decide for hiself
