Hi, who would you recommend for decent bills? Currently paying £170-£200 a month which is way too much for a 3 bedroom in my opinion

Honestly I recommend none, we use a top up card for our gas and electric, that way you can choose how much to spend, and you know exactly where you stand with your money. It's easy enough now, as you can just hop online and top up, as you use to have to go shop to top up which was annoying, but yeah, easy asf now.

Yeah I heard about that smart meter. What company are you using it with though?

I use Utilita, you can top it up from your phone, Gas or Electric. I switched a year ago and they are great!

I use Eon and pay around 70 a month for both and Gas and Leccy. I have a 2 bed house so could make a bit f a difference. As Mikey said there is the Pay meter option and you get same rates as people who use Direct Debit but you are more in control.

Might be worth checking comparison sites for your local area, or even posting on your local buy & sell Facebook groups to see what people recommend.

70 a month sounds fair, is this including the colder winter seasons?
Thanks for replies everyone by the way!

Well we just had a smart meter installed and in the first week (first proper cold week we have had this year tbf) we used about £20 so even if we ramp it up a little still around £100 a month

As Mikey said. A top up system for electricity and gas is the way forward. Been on the system for a few years now and it has worked out so much better than going with a provider.
