So, about a week ago, I accidentally disabled my microphone (on sounds) and it completely disappeared, I tried reinstalling drivers etc etc and nothing has worked, or maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anyway, after a couple hours of searching, I found an article for a solution, so I uninstalled my Realtek audio drivers completely and when I went to reinstall them, It always failed. So, I have resulted in using a converter to USB for my headset right now and unfortunately, the audio is not completely reversed so left is right, right is left etc.
I would really appreciate if anyone could provide me with a solution to help me reinstall the realtek drivers without failure or any help on the reverse audio.
I have the SteelSeries artics 3
+rep for any help

Ahh the joys of realtek drivers that I know far too well.
What I'd do is completely uninstall the drivers and clean the software folder which should be in C:/users/programs files. Once you've deleted anything realtek in there, I'd give ccleaner a download and just do a sweep of the registry. That should nuke the rest of it.
Now, you can re-install and you shouldn't have any issues.
Let me know how you get on.

Honestly Im not even sure what's happening, I must be doing something wrong at this point.
I uninstalled all that stuff etc, ccleaner the registry then went and tried to download it. It gets about 90% done then..
Tbf I am not even 100% sure I'm downloading the right software.
Im using windows 10 - 64bit

I've had a quick scan of the interwebs and found that this issue seems to be a mismatch driver issue where you've still got one installed so it can't install a new one.
I'd go into device manager and remove Realtek HD audio from there. Reboot and try again.
Others have also suggested turning off automatically installing drivers from Windows Updates.
Apart from that, I've seen a lot of people saying "just re-install Windows" which I suppose will fix the issue but would be the last thing I'd try.
