I have never owned a pair of A50s so I apologize if this doesnt help. I have A40 TRs and everyone I have heard an opinion from says the A40 TRs are better. I believe the only reason the A50s are more money is because the wireless feature is less of a hassle.
Although its wireless and may be more suitable, the wired headset provides a faster response time with sound although the difference is very slight.

Compared to turtle beaches, they don't have a absurd amount of bass, My a40's came with a mixamp that plugs into the controller, and i can pick if i want it to be bass-ey or not. It comes in handy for some games. Like R6 i like zero bass because it makes footsteps extremely loud and easy to read, while on cod i like the bass (since you don't really need to listen to footsteps with acoustic sensor)

The A40s are better than the A50s because they're wired, they dont have batteries inside them like the A40s (weigh less), A50s are prone to not charging when you sit them on the base, and finally they are prone to interference since they operate on the 5Ghz band. Your Phone, latptop, Microwaves, and other wifi signals can mess it up.
I still have my A40s from 2013 and they work great. The only issue I had was the optical, and chat cables went bad.
