I like TTG, ive used it almost everyday for news, mods, glitches, etc.
You ever watch the movie "Pay it Forward"? 'Cause that is where im going with this.
I bought a server for people to play on and enjoy a ttg-orientated community.

That is true, i would have to run the lightest modpacks possible if I were to go that route, im leaning towards vanilla. Although im open to any suggestions. Can use one VPS and bump the RAM to 2gb if not using the other vps.

Even if you combined them, it still wouldn't run well enough to be worth it IMO. I would do vanilla. I just bought a realm I'm going to playing be playing on again.

Most popular modpacks use 4-6GB RAM for the game while the server takes 3-6 depending on how fast you want it to go without lagging.
I might make a compilation pack of TTG's favorite java mods and publish it to curseforge for people to dl and play. Although it cant be too many mods so i might limit to like 25-50.
Vanilla is the route im going now, just need suggestions on what kind of server it should be regarding pvp or pve, economy or no economy, skyblock or both, survival, creative, or both. Ah screw it ill just do all the above. Ill make a topic of info soon regarding the server once its setup.
Thank you for the replies

You're not going to run any modpack with any decent performance on 1GB. You're better making it a vanilla server, and also capping the player limit to around 20 until upgrades are made. You could possibly run a bukkit gig within the server with plugins for players if you cap it to 10 players and dont go overboard with plugins.

Yeah I decided to allocate all resources from the 2 into just one main server.
Server is up and undergoing construction atm. if anyone wants to stop by and test the performance, the IP is 192.3.10.29
^IP is external. Checked like 100 times and its valid. such a strange IP for a external server tbh.
Also not hosted on my network, its hosted in NY, so its an east cost server

Ill come check on it here in a bit, did you decide to run plain vanilla or incorporate bukkit into the server as well?
