Here is some things you should check out before you trade, buy, or sell to/from someone that you do not trust:

There are a lot of scammers out there and I am trying to help you guys out by telling you a few things. This could just be common sense, or not.

Now this is for people that are looking to buy something.

First of all you start off. You just found something you wanted to buy on TTG. You have Paypal and so does the other person.

Now here are some things you should take in account:

If he asks to send it as a Gift then it is most likely a scam. Ask questions, maybe say why do you want it sent as a gift? If he says just because or something like that then..

Is he trusted on TTG? If so then he is not a scammer. Go ahead and buy.

One of a big thing that I ran into was a person wanted to buy my PSP and so we were going to send it to them and when they sent the address it was to Nigeria. That is also a scam. I am not saying don't ever buy something from there just ask a lot of questions. Like why am I sending this to Nigeria? and things like that.

Ask if they will send a tracking number of the product you want to buy when they ship. This will clear up so tension. Make sure you check it to see if it is real.

Does this person have a lot of posts or do they have good reputation? This is something you should really look at. If they are a One Hit Wonder and have like -2 rep then obviously..

Now this is for people that are selling things.

When a person asks if you will accept a money order it does not mean it is a scam. It is up to you on that decision. Personally I would turn it down.

If someone wants you to send the money to him and he/she says it is for there son, or other relative, in another country then this is a scam. Unless told otherwise.

I was on Craigslist and I was selling something in Montana. I got a reply saying that they were in NY and wanted to buy. I asked why they are looking in MT instead of NY. They said because it is too hard to buy on Ebay and in NY.

Just because you are selling something does not mean you will not get scammed. Find things about your buyer and know him/her. This will make everything more clear and understood.

Here are some great tips:

The best way to buy something is to go through Paypal and do not send as gift.

Also always ask for proof pictures of anything you are buying.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Never send something first in a trade just because they want you too.

If you do buy the product and you never receive it you can dispute on Paypal and get your money back.

There are always new scams going around so make sure you know what you are buying and everything about the transaction BEFORE you buy.

Like I said most of this is common sense but it may help the new members to TTG. And I am not trying to be a Sticky try hard. This is to completely help out the community.

Ya I agree. Personally I think one of them should be stickied, does NOT have to be mine, it would just make it so some of the newer people would be able to find it easier. Then they could read it and not get scammed.
