Myth busted. You cannot get an update if your console is not connected to the Internet. Even if it told you to update you wouldn't be able to until you connected to the internet

for all u guys that are confused it doesnt download sh*t even if u click it what ur doing is bypassing the check if u click update u have issues trying to sign in it instantly bans u now by unplugging the ethernet it bypasses that check for everyone who claims it doesnt work try it urself so i can prove u wrong cause IT WORKS

You can do the thing i the post. But if you have two xboxes one with 2.0.12611. kinect dash and one with 2.0.9199. dash then if you plug out your hdd from your updated xbox to your older version dash then it will automaticly update the console without the console even been online or plugged into the internet.
However the kv flashing problem was fixed a small time ago.

IM GOING TO SAY THIS AGAIN IT IS NOT A UPDATE MS MAKES US THINK IT IS BUT IT IS NOT WHEN U CLICK THE UPDATE NOW IT UPLOADS UR INFO TO THE SERVER BY UNPLUGGING THE ETHERNET IT BYPASSES THE SECURITY CHECK ALLOWING JTAGS ONLINE WITHOUT BEING INSTANTLY BANNED

I don't think it would work, only because you need a active internet to connect to live to download the update. It would be impossible to download the update with out a ethernet cord to connect to live.

no. That wouldn't work. As TTG_Tech_Support said, you need to be connected to XBL so you can download the update. Without the ethernet cable, you cant go online. Therefore this would not work.
