Well, Here's the story. I have an xbox I opened and made liable to hotswap but my problem is that it has the RRoD, 3 lights I would like to know which technique of fixing it is the easiest.
I am looking for a permanent Fix.
(I bought the console for $20 off of craigslist came with a HDD as well )

Xclamps is not permanent but can get the xbox running
the towel trick will ruin the motherboard and force you to get it reballed
I'd look on craigslist for a person that can reflow it for you

May I ask how long does the Xclamp fix last? as I just want it running for 10-20 minutes per session.

Xclamp fix is best out of those 3, will easily last forever as long as you don't abuse your console. Towel trick / Penny trick slowly destroy your xbox & will make it near-impossible to fix.
Reballing will cose you about $60-120 but is the BEST method of fixing it. After that reflowing is & will cost you maybe $40-80

Well, I am going to try the XClamp fix as I don't have too much Cash at the moment, and I only want to use the console for hotswapping anyways not too even play the game I swap my HDD's between xboxs and then install the hotswap to the HDD swap consoles and I dont need to open my nice elite xbox .
Is there a possibility that the console wont be fixed from the XClamp?
