is your website hosted on your own server or someone elses? And if it's someone you pay to host on contact them they'd probably be happy to help you especially if you were to consider any legal routes if the problem persists.
And the Nettool suggestion would allow you to capture the IP address of each data packet incoming to your server

happppened to me numerous times i just signed off came back on like 5 hours later is was all better.

if ur using vBulletin someone could have wen into the admin pannel and shut off the forum
