mrmacgee wrote It would be awesome to go there. Not just cool, but awesome. If I could I would go there right now. I am defiantly going to go there sometime in my life... I hope.Yeah this place is amazing and very historic too. I'm lucky enough that my parents planned this trip down here and decided to let me come down to Peru with them. There is so much to see down here, such as Machu Picchu, sacred Valley of the Inca's, several mueseums, etc. We have seen a ton of stuff and i forgot to go into detail about my city tour so i will go ahead and describe that. This was only a 4 hour tour where we learned about the history of the city. We first went to a HUGE catholic cathedral in the center plaza (called the plaza de armes) where the local people went to church. It was really big and the layout of the church was in the shape of a cross (from an overhead view it looks like a cross) it was built sometime in the 1500's when Spain invaded the Inca's. It had many statues of gold and silver it was awesome. It also had replica painting from churches in Spain. Next we went to the outskirts of the city to a place that i have no idea how to spell of say it was something like saqywomenh. Only 20% was left of the original place but it served as a storage place for weapons, food, etc. that looked over the entire city. The stones that the Incas built it with were absolutely huge with the biggest one being 180 tons! After that we went to a few excavation sites for ruins, etc. and the last place was a cave underground that no one knows the meaning of it. the cave stays at about 32 degrees fareinheit all year round and has a strange table in the middle of it That was pretty much the entire city tour and i have already posted about the Machu Picchu tour. Later i'll post a description of the city and the people.
