Sorry if this reply sounds stupid. I have a quite a bad connection right, so I personally get as much internet at one time on. Then for some reason I go into my own lobby ( I'm the only one in it ) Turn all the internet off etc and let people join it seems to work with me!

How you can tell when your Host Right after the map loads, before the countdown hit the "start button" to bring up the list of everybody in the room, if you have 4 bars light up before everyone else, you are the Host.

Sometimes it takes a few games to gain host, especially in Ground War, but you can tell when the old host leaves the room when everybody score resets to 0 before the next round.
